From Parking Spot to Showroom: Planning a Custom Garage System

Custom garage storage system with cabinets and wall organization

A garage fails the day the car no longer fits. The cure is the same discipline as a fine closet: everything off the floor, everything zoned, everything visible. Wall panels carry the frequently used; closed cabinets absorb the rest.

Zone by errand, not by object

  • Drop zone by the house door for keys, bags, and the day's clutter
  • Workshop wall with task lighting over the bench
  • Sports gear where the cars can't scrape it
  • Seasonal bins overhead on ceiling racks you visit twice a year

Specify for the climate

This matters more in Florida than almost anywhere. Powder-coated steel and thermally fused laminate shrug off humidity; bare MDF swells and sags. Sealed floors and raised cabinet bases keep storm water from ever meeting your storage. Our garage page shows a full system laid out this way.
